How does a belt conveyor works?
Belt conveyors use a continuous loop of rubber belting to transport bulk materials. Material is loaded onto the belt at the feed point, carried along the conveyor on idlers, and discharged at the desired location. The drive pulley powers the belt’s movement, while the take-up pulley maintains tension. Adjustable speed and belt width control throughput, while cleated or troughed designs handle inclines or fine materials.
Supported by a steel frame, the system operates as an endless loop—loaded material moves on top, while the empty belt returns underneath. This efficient design enables low-energy, long-distance bulk material transport in mining, construction, and industrial applications.
