How does an inclined screen works?
An inclined screen operates at a 18°-25° angle, using vibration to efficiently separate materials by size. As material enters the feed end, the vibrating motion causes larger particles to travel upward and discharge off the deck’s end, while smaller fines pass through the screen media. The adjustable angle controls material flow speed – steeper angles increase throughput for coarse screening, while shallower angles improve accuracy for fine materials.
This gravity-assisted design maximizes separation efficiency while minimizing energy use, making it ideal for aggregate grading, mineral processing, and recycling applications. The screen’s vibration frequency and amplitude can be fine-tuned to optimize performance for different materials.

FAQs for inclined screen
What is an inclined screen?
Inclined Screen is a vibrating screening device with a slope, usually installed at an angle of 18°~25°. It uses gravity combined with vibration to quickly sort materials. It is suitable for grading and screening small and medium-sized particles of sand, coal, ore, etc. It has the characteristics of simple structure, small footprint, and large processing capacity. It is widely used in sand and gravel plants, sand washing lines, coal mines, etc.
Compared with horizontal screens, it has lower costs and easier maintenance, but is more suitable for dry materials. It is an efficient and economical screening option in crushing production lines.
How to choose the model of inclined screen?
When choosing an inclined vibrating screen, you need to consider the material characteristics, production capacity requirements and screening accuracy.
For coarse particles (such as ore), a large mesh and high-strength screen plate should be used. Wet and sticky materials (such as sludge) need to be equipped with a screen cleaning device to prevent clogging.
The processing capacity needs to match the screen width (such as 1.2m wide single-layer screen is about 20-50t/h). Multi-layer screens can improve classification efficiency but reduce single-layer capacity.
The screening accuracy depends on the shape of the screen holes (square holes are suitable for classification, round holes are suitable for impurity removal) and the material (304 stainless steel is wear-resistant, polyurethane is noise-reducing).
In terms of equipment parameters, the inclination angle (usually 18°-25° adjustable) affects the production capacity and accuracy – the larger the angle, the higher the output but the lower the screening accuracy. The power of the vibration motor (2.2-7.5kW) needs to be matched according to the material load. Dust-prone materials (such as carbon black) require a fully enclosed structure.
How to choose the right screening media?
Material Type – Select based on abrasion resistance, corrosion, or impact (e.g., PU for wet ore, steel for heavy rock).
Particle Size – Match aperture shape/size to your material gradation.
Operational Needs – Consider wear life, noise reduction (rubber), or sticky material (self-cleaning PU).Cost Efficiency – Balance initial price vs. longevity (e.g., composite panels for long-term savings).
